ECSE

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) provides early education services to any child with special needs starting at birth. This includes children who, because of prematurity or other complications, may experience problems or difficulties in the areas of development. Parents work together with a team of professionals from education, health and human service agencies to plan the services the child needs. Services are free to children who meet eligibility requirements.

Early Childhood Intervention

The Minnesota Department of Education helps ensure that all Minnesota families with infants, toddlers, and preschool children experiencing developmental delays or disabilities have access to early intervention services close to home when they need them. This is accomplished through the implementation of a comprehensive, coordinated statewide system of local interagency early intervention committees and service providers.
